ClamBake

We just love going to the Botzer Annual Clambake.

It's so much fun.

Since we were going to go on a hayride, Delilah made sure to wear her cowgirl boots.

 Hayrides and karaoke!

Contests!  Bubble Gum Blowing & TP wrapping.
Addison won for the biggest bubble.

Harvest Fest

I took the girls to our annual Harvest Fest.  We met mom and dad and spent a few hours hanging around.  Basically, I got to chat with mom and dad while the girls had fun at the bounce house!

While we were there, we ran into some other people that we know.  In the top picture, the girls in green are their babysitter's daughters.  According to Delilah, their names are Aurora and Violet... but really it's Aurora and Indigo.  She continuosly refers to Indigo as Violet.  She's stuck on the rainbow...ROYGBIV!

Clam Bake

The many activities that we love at the Botzer Clambake.  This was their 40th!!
  • They have a whole child area with toys & a bounce house that the girls stay in for hours.

  • They have horseback rides.
  • They have games for kids (You've seen this game recently, right?  hint:  #4 bday)

  • They have a prize table with oh-so-many choices.
  •  They have hay rides.

  • They have tons of food...clams (raw & steamed), clam chowder, sloppy joes, salt potatoes & corn-on-the-cob.  Guests have to help husk and then the geese get to chow the husks.

  • They also have karaoke...maybe we'll start practicing for next year.

This was a first for us as well...Marmy and Papa came for the girls (treated them to unnecessary ice cream, fireworks & a movie) so that Ezra and I could actually spend some adult time.  I mean, I actually got to sit and talk with Beth & Mark!  Can't wait til next year.

Farm Visit

I'm foregoing Old Photo Friday for a while, since I don't have access to a scanner now.  Apparently some of you were disappointed!  Well, I'm glad that you come visit us and expect to see a quick update of our lives and a trip down memory lane for some of you on Fridays.

So we recently headed to the local farm for a fam-excursion.  My princess got herself dolled up and my handsome hubby donned one of his fave outfits (flip-flops and slayer vest) thanks to the nice weather.  In the meantime, Delilah and I threw on our comfy clothes and off we went.  I made that seem like it was an easy task to get out the door, didn't I?  Well, I'll fill you in next week with behind-the scene action.

At the farm, it was a run-fest as we visited one animal after another!

To the barn!  I really love the view of a farm.  I think it's quaint.

 Goats.
On to one of our fave sites here....the big pig!  Can you see him...look closely.

Addison sees him and as always, is quite impressed with his size....seriously, he's the size of a horse!
Then to the sheep and then to the horsies.
(btw- reminds me of something JuneBug would say when we traveled to Florida)

It was such a treat to spend a few hours out in the nice weather as a family.

We've got a couple things to do before we leave, there's a turkey to see and then jumping on the hay is a farm necessity!
As we're leaving the girls run off with a mission...when I get a closer look, I her Delilah say something about "scratch" and then realize that she's been watching her daddy man and is learning to do the back scratch!
