Library Fun

During the summer, our local library hosted a sleep-over for the stuffed animals.
The kids went with stuffed animals, did a craft and read a book to their animals.
Then we left and returned to pick-them up the next day and got evidence of the mischief that the animals got into:

Make Believe

We don't do restaraunts.  Well, occasionaly we'll dine in at Wendy's.  But that's the extent of the girls' experience. So the following conversation is not based on experience...so don't judge any rudeness...on their part, anyways.

 {btw - think squeeky voice)

D:  What would you like to have?

M:  Do you have salad?
D:  Yes, I will get it. Here you go.

M:   This is disgusting!  I think this was made with garbage!
{can't you see those wheels turning?!}
D:  No, it is not.  It is a salad.

She gave up on playing with me!

The Kitchen!

BEFORE
AFTER
I started with a purchase at Goodwill for $2.99.  Then Ezra and I removed parts of it.  Ezra cut some wood to add a door and some holes for sink and faucet.  I found some fabric for under $10 that was a perfect match for the room and the look I was aiming for.  I wanted vintage and something that wasn't too "toyish" looking.
It was the last thing that we gave to the girls on Christmas morning.  It was just covered with a sheet downstairs.  We took them down and told them that mommy and daddy made them something special.  I unveiled it and they just stared.  I asked if they knew what it was and they replied a house. I answered, "kind of, it's a kitchen."  Then they both scooted off in opposite directions.  I figured that they had other toys to play with.
Turns out they went gathering...they returned immediately and I understood that they were still working with the "house" definition of my kitchen because they both had things to set up house.  They moved right in with the table, chairs, food, kitchen devices (a new gift), baskets, dolls, etc.

Even if this toy grows old, I had a lot of fun making it and Ezra got in on the fun also.  The downstairs is really for their play and their toys, so though it's a bit large...it's right for them and the room's purpose.

Creativity

While I worked on garage organization, the girls played.  They can sometimes play make-believe for a long time.  They decided to "camp" in the van and jeep so I set up the "tent" for them.

Then Delilah needed to keep coming into my "store" to talk to me the "camp-store lady" to inquire about her different needs.  She bought stuff all afternoon while I worked on cleaning and organizing.

It's Raining,

It's Pouring...and we've told it to come back another day...but it's not happening.  So after dressing themselves for errands ----->
we came back and did rainy day activities:

I drew, they colored, we collected people and they played village.

Animal Healers

They watch Wonder Pets.  So now "teamwork" is big in our house because that's the motto of the Wonder Pets.  They also save pets because that's what the Wonder Pets do.

I just love love love watching them reenact their shows and using their little imaginations.

My Baked Goods

I apologize ahead of time for all these pictures...but I am so tickled with the baked goods that I made the girls.  I made them felt cupcakes, cookies and doughnuts.  It was so much fun for me, but I was afraid the girls wouldn't be as impressed as I was with the final product.  So, I saved them away for a rainy day activity and I recently got my chance.  Delilah announced that it was Baby Floppy's birthday, so I broke them out for the perfect celebration.

Over the River and Through the Woods

What a play day!  We've got a river to cross, then rocks to step on, a hill to climb, then finally the princesses can make it to the field of flowers!  My role was the prince to help them cross the river.

Not to be left out...

Addison can't resist a photo shoot...so when she saw yesterday's action, she jumped right in.  They decided to let their buddies join in on the dance party.
