 I don't know if you can tell, but we were able to obtain a 3-dimensional look by using egg carton pieces. 

Then, we were lucky enough to get more spring crafts from a craft activity at church.  They traced their hands, cut them, and put them together with pipe cleaners and green paper to form stamen, stem and leaves.
