At the age of 14, I'm wondering if the smiles like this were more frequent than the previous couple years. As I recall, I was not at my best in my pre-teen years, so a happy camper here with her mom must have been pleasant.
Melanie, as a teenager you were not trying at all. As a matter of fact you were always easy to raise. Maybe you feel like you smiled less those years and were personally discontent, but the move from youth to teen feels like Jekyll-Hyde to the kid undergoing the imbalances. Put away any doubts that you were less than a gift of life and hope. Today you remain as such.
I don't recall the picture, but I liked seeing it today. We look like we are physically related, don't we? Once again, I have to be grateful that your dad took many photos.
