Homework???!!!???

The girls actually came home last week with an assignment!!!  I couldn't believe that I had to do homework with my 3-year olds!  Then I looked at the directions and it was essentially to just make a poster to introduce the girls and let their teachers and classmates know more about them.  I figured it'd be easy to draw pics and let the girls color them in.  Why did I think that....they are 3...they don't follow rules...or my guided plan...they have their own spin and go with it that way.  If not, there will be crying and screaming.  There was crying and screaming because once the coloring supplies were on the table, the girls wanted to just color...they were not feeling my plan of attack for the poster.  A bit frustrating for a few minutes, but when I started talking about drawing the fun stuff they love (princess dresses, our pond) they got pretty excited.  So here you go:

Nice representation of the interests of each daughter, Melanie. I did note that your princess drawing was very similar to one that you did of me when you were about 10; it was a depiction of the shopping queen. Do you recall seeing that recently? Often I put it out at Christmas time.

oh yeah - I do totally remember that. That's funny that once I mastered a representation that was presentable I didn't steer far.

Check out the picture of the dinosaur!! Did she draw that or you, Melanie? Did you guys do practice runs for presenting it?
