Gingerbread House

My dad bought a kit for me to do with the girls. I was a bit nervous. I'm amazed at the way I hear about other moms getting their kids all involved with crafts and messy fun. It just causes me a bit of uneasiness...maybe if there were two of me??

Anyhow, thankfully it was a package deal and really all I had to do was put the structure together and give it some time to congeal...then the girls went at it. I told them they were just decorations, so they didn't even know that they were handling candy. (They had so much sugar and sweets during the holidays that their systems need to be detoxed!)

Unfortunately, I licked Addison's fingers to get the frosting off and she discovered the sweet stuff. Delilah kept on going and was really getting into completing her side.

Can you tell which side is lacking the details due to the frosting consumption?
It's no Martha Stewart GingerBread House...but I've yet to see her work with twin toddlers!

That is one beautiful gingerbread house. I'm thinking this needs to be a tradition or a new competition!

Do you think Martha has ever created a Christmas gingerbread house in halloween costumes?!?! Melanie, you just one upped the queen of creativity.

Twin toddlers you say? I thought i saw the "bear" (dog) and "princess" in the photo, both looking charmed and charming with the endeavor.

So what happened to the decoration after the holidays?

Oh, oh; Meredith suggests that you make it an annual. Should dad look and see if there are any more kits still out there?

They got to eat some pieces of the house until it mysteriously disappeared. I don't think that we'll want year-old gingerbread, but thanks.
