School

The local newspaper wrote an article about the girls' teacher who started the pre-k program at their school.

Addison made the newspaper!
She looked right at that picture and said "Oh, mom, my hair looks neat.  What hair band am I wearing?"

Delilah has blossomed this year, though it's taken some time. She gets pretty dedicated to doing something.  She was focused on drawing people correctly and now I constantly find drawings of girls around the house.  But most recently she was inspired to learn a new shape.  She sat at the table one day with me, Marmy and Papa and just kept going once we gave her some key ideas.

I wasn't sure about this picture.  It was so cute when I found it...about a month ago!  Funny that someone was drawing Santa in February.  I asked them about it and Addison took credit for it.  I didn't guide her at all, nor did Ezra, so I was impressed with the necessary details to Santa and his reindeer.

Delilah is constantly working on something.  The girl likes to play hard and be creative.  That creativity is outside and inside.  She loves crafting.  She likes doing "school work" as well.  She's recently taken to asking me how to write things...not just words..but sentences...lengthy ones!
Somebody wants to play with somebody but their dad says no.

There is SO much here to love.

Both girls' drawings are great.

I can't get over Addison's Christmas pic. She did really well with it; it's very impressive. It's great that she's using appropriate colors for her subjects and not just the colors she likes. And those reindeer--what nice antlers and that first one has a healthy tail on him. I wonder if he's smiling because he gets to be first in line for Santa.

As for Delilah, I have to attest to the long stories she likes to write. I was designated once as the writer while she dictated the story to me and it was quite lengthy. But she's liked stories for a long time. She and Aunt Edsie are always getting together to come up with some unique adventures.

How neat that their school got exposure in the newspaper! And even more exciting that Addison got her pic in it. She is so Addison with her comment--but she's right, her hair does look neat. I'm also noticing the sweatshirt... It's funny how the girls have mentioned kids in their class and now we get to put names to the faces!

Sorry I haven't posted lately. I love looking at the blog though. It's great to see my Thomas family on a regular basis.
