SKATELAND!!!!

Remember roller-skating? What a fun part of my past. We did at at school in the gym at skating parties, but spent more time at Skateland. It's right around the corner from my parents' house and we took them there one time last year to take a peak and they got to go play on the bounce houses. Since that visit, they talk about it every time we pass it (which is every time we visit Marmy and Papa)....so recently we decided it was time.

We went Saturday morning when it wasn't really crowded (quite different from the Saturdays in my childhood which were packed!). We got the girls some skates and set off to try them out.

It took them a few tries around, but they got the general idea.
They kept falling and working through it.
One of my little girls tends to be a perfectionist and, as expected, wasn't happy that there was a learning process involved.
Delilah didn't show one ounce of frustration and by the very end, she was going along the wall by herself when she gave me a little look and crossed the way without an adult's hand!

Oh, it was such a super-fun day and we cannot wait to return. I even got my feet into skates and boy-oh-boy did it feel good to get out there and skate. So when I say we cannot wait...I'm not sure who's looking forward to returning!

I talked to Dad later that day...he told me how much fun he had. I love the picture with Dad and Delilah! You sound juuuusstt like mom used to - saying how good it felt to get out there and skate!
