The girls big girl room.I wanted to keep it simple so that I wasn't married to any theme since I'm quite sure that things will change over the next few years. We've been speaking about painting it for a while...maybe you remember the conversation about paint colors a while back. One likes pink, one orange, but we claim that everyone likes blue. So I did a creamy color to create a blank palate and then went with teal as my accent.
I needed to complete this with a small budget and keep in mind that things need to stand up to two 3-year olds.
1. I painted the nightstand that we already had. It was perfect because it already had recessed panels to let me get the teal accent in. (still working on the knobs)
2. Little did Meredith know that her little scribbling would hang as artwork on our wall. Meredith, hope you're ready to keep up your artistic skills!
3. Artwork on the cheap - pretty papers from Michael's, enlarged font traced and cut, ribbon I already had and voila. I even had scrapbooking supplies with the right color combo saying "Best Friends Forever", so how could I resist??
4. More scrapbooking paper. (cheapest frames I could find at WalMart...but you don't even look at them)
5. Artwork my mama made for me when I was a little girl!
6. Cheap roller blinds spruced up with ribbon (50% off at Michaels)
7. Shelf I've had for years painted teal and curtains from WalMart to cover the closet.
8. Rug was the one that we've already had (how perfect with the multiple colors including that teal)
9. Teal sheats and seafoam color blankets (on sale!!)
Nice, fresh, light & airy and cute! I'm super happy. The girls are just proud of their big girl beds. Truth is, the room is styled to meet my needs! Oh well, that's another project I can stop thinking about move on to another.

It looks really nice, Melanie. I love the idea about putting the 3 up there. You are so creative!!!
The room does have an airy feel about it, Melanie. Now it's the job of the girls to clutter it which says it is their room.
Love it, Melanie! Good job!
It is beautiful Melanie! It has a "Real Simple" feel to it. I love the way you carried the teal throughout the room.
I looooove it!! I love the colors, the set up, the decor... but the picture is missing two girls...
Very nice Melanie! Works for both girls. You are so creative.
