Out little town has been promoting a train ride with Santa recently and I couldn't find another way to see him and beat the mall lines. So we called Marmy and Papa to join us and bundled up for a trip on the train. The girls were excited about the train ride because they watch Dinosaur Train, not because of Santa like I had anticipated. But I kept talking about Santa and we kept reading the books...I really wanted to get a picture with him for our cards. Well, don't expect that.S
o we sat down and awaited Santa to come say hi. Addison was all smiles when he came out whereas Delilah started with the tears immediately and telling me "want to go in FamVan," "want to see DaddyMan." He was making his rounds and she was in my lap holding on for dear life. As he came closer, her grip and tears increased. My poor little baby...so sweetly innocent! However, my big girl was as proud as could be to talk to him. When he finally came to our seats (and Delilah was furrowed into my chest), Addison said "ho, ho, ho" and then "Merry Christmas." His elf gave us some candy canes and off they went.

The candy canes were a hit.
The next day I spoke with the girls about Santa and Delilah told me "no like Santa, I cry." So I asked her if we could read books with Santa and watch the Wiggles with him and that appeased her. Addison told me "Santa like me" and when I asked her why she said "cause I say ho, ho, ho and happy Christmas" with a huge smile on her face. She was very proud of herself.

The photos do not capture any terror, but we know that Addison was a lttle reserved about Santa entering her space, and Delilah was totally enveloped in your space, Melanie. The truth lies in this visual fact: candy is a celebration of surviving in life, so let's make haste and snack on the sweet stuff to our deloght!
