The deck is FINALLY finished! I was limited by a month of rain and 2-hour naps leaving me toddler-free to work and voila! I'd estimate that I've put 18 hours into painting this deck...changing it from yellow to this rich chocolate color. Yellow...can I tell you how sick I am of this color. One year ago we moved in and EVERYTHING was yellow. Seriously, everything...the siding, the deck, both bathrooms, all 4 bedrooms, living room, fam room, hall, kitchen...some shade or another of yellow. We're slowly getting rid of it because we are just sick of it!Additionally, when Jim was visiting recently, he helped to polish this enormous deck by building a much-needed small step. This step was built, according to my intentions, to make the step more manageable. To others, it serves as a lounge area, snack area or simply a rest stop.

I sympathize with you. We had so much yellow also it was unreal. Ours was the same bright canary yellow. Remember? Yuck! Deck looks great! The girls looks adorable sitting on the new step.

That step is a blessing. I am glad that Ezra saw that it as an addition would make " climbing down" easier for this decrepit Marmy.
